You may wish use the tools within to identify plants by selecting the appropriate sections i.e. Leaves or Flower and then selecting the samples characteristics from there.
From the short list generated and with the accompanying photographs that blow up to full screen when clicked on, you should be able to identify the plant, palm, cacti, succulent, fern or fungi from there.
Or you may wish to simply find a plant to suit a position in the garden, landscape, streetscape, commercial or industrial situation with i.e Sun, Soil, Root, Height, Width and Watering and Wind requirements, in mind.

Support the Database development
Hort Data is continually improving, building and expanding the data base and the applications for the data base. Research, travel and photography for all the plants is time consuming and costly. To date the whole project has been personally funded.
The next big step in development for the data base, is to make it possible to search the data base with a photo app. Take a photo on your phone or tablet in the field or nursery and match it to a plant in the data base for identification or more information.
Businesses may support further development with advertising on the website or a development donation with reciprocal rights for free subscription.
Business, especially nurseries may also be interested in supporting the development of the data base by the supply of information on plants and / or propagation for free subscription and / or reduced advertising costs.
Individuals may support further development with a development donation with reciprocal rights for free subscription for 1-5 years depending on the amount.
